FAQs

A typical solar project offers an average internal rate of return between 5% and 8%. This is as good, if not better, than most investments like real estate or stocks. At Shasta, we aim higher, targeting an internal rate of return that exceeds 10%.
Our pricing includes a fixed unit price of $1,000, with a 10-unit minimum per investor. A 5% annual fee on Assets Under Management (AUM) is charged monthly (0.416%/month) on unreturned equity in Shasta Power Fund II. Net profits are split 70% to investors and 30% to Shasta Power after expenses, preferred returns and equity returns.
Investments are held for a minimum of five years. After that, investors can request annual withdrawals, subject to the company’s discretion and available liquidity. While there’s no secondary market yet, future Reg A+ funds may introduce one. Additional provisions include minimum withdrawal percentages.
Yes. Solar investments do not correlate closely with the stock market or other traditional asset classes. This means they can reduce your exposure to economic cycles and mitigate the risk of market downturns.
Yes. Solar energy helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by replacing fossil fuel energy generation. Utility-scale solar installations can save around 385,000 to 436,000 pounds of CO2 emissions per acre annually. Utility-scale solar projects also create hundreds of local jobs, increase local tax revenue, and help improve local infrastructure.
Our funds are considered a long-term investment. Projects take over a year, and often several years to develop and sell, aiming for long-term capital gains.
